Alejandra is a bilingual journalist currently working as a news intern at WLRN, South Florida's NPR station. She dreamed of working in radio since she was a teenager, fascinated by the power of storytelling with audio. At WLRN, she reports on local businesses, young voters and immigration. She also assists with the production of the station's public affairs programs.
In addition, Alejandra works as a writer and social media monitor at Caracas Chronicles and Cinco8, two news websites that explain the social, economic, and political situation in Venezuela. Previously, she contributed to local reporting for the Miami Times and the Miami Herald.
Alejandra attributes her love of politics and journalism to her home country. Born and raised in Venezuela, she witnessed the current political and economic crisis develop and found in journalism a way to understand and explain to others what was happening in the country. She graduated from Florida International University in the summer of 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
